My attempt at blogging.

Today is the third anniversary of nine-eleven. The inspiration of writing blogs came after chatting with Rohit in the morning and reading his blogs. I dont know if I will be able to be as regular as Rohit but will try to give it my best shot. In the past couple of years, I have tried to be regular at some things (yoga, guitar to name a few) without a lot of success. Though I havent given up on them and actually am getting more regular than before. Lets see how I fare here.

Olympics ended recently and India's performance was abysmal as usual - only one silver medal for the 2nd most populous nation on the planet. I had read this article by some researchers at PWC predicting medals for nations based on their population, macroeconomy and growth (http://slate.msn.com/id/2105090/). They predicted ... hold on to tour breath ... a whooping 10 medals for India !!! To paraphrase:

"In the past four years, France and Germany have had comparatively little growth compared with, say, India and Mexico. So, France and Germany are projected to lose medals, while India's total is expected to rise from one to 10 (!) "

I am not so sure if those researchers still hold their jobs at PWC after such predictions. What really impressed me was China coming in second place. Speaks a lot about their national character (and our performance speaks a lot about ours too).
